Heidi grew up in Puebla, Mexico but her passion for nature, wildlife and the ocean took her to Baja California Sur where she studied marine biology specializing in Management of Marine Resources. Besides being involved in various research projects with marine mammals, Heidi used her time in Baja to work as a kayak guide, which led her to the adventure of traveling. After her first journey, Heidi decided that getting to know more about the world and different cultures was something she wanted to do for years to come. Heidi got the opportunity to travel throughout South America for an extended period of time. At the end of her travels, Heidi ended up in Patagonia, where she decided to live for a couple of years. It was in Patagonia that Heidi started participating in environmental and education projects.
Currently, Heidi works at Ecology Project International in La Paz, Baja California Sur where she coordinates an environmental education program with kids in remote fishing communities. In her free time she enjoys the outdoors, camping, reading, kayaking, exploring and taking wildlife photographs.
